yup, but OTOH efficiency in the consumption of resources also goes way up, so don't ignore that.

<<my point is that global capitalism is taking shape and it's accelerating. this will place an increasing demand and need for basic commodities.

the 1st part I agree with, but demand for commodities will decline as so many economies around the world have slower growth, no? China may not slow down as they are so huge internally, but there is a huge slowdown in growth going on just about everywhere else so I wouldn't count on an explosion of demand for commodities. Esp if we (US, Lat Amer, Europe, etc)actually shift into reverse and have negative growth.
