I find it fascinating that you equate ignorant people and a passing score on an IQ test.

I suggest that in the case of those who wish to run for any office the only requirement is that they be able to make their mark or whatever. In the Constitution there are other requirements specified for the election of the president.

Now the voters can then show their collective IQ and wisdom by voting. But a test of some level of mental activity would mean that the vote was part of the collective IQ and wisdom test and not just flipping coins.
