New Gravis game pad answers gamers' prayers Xterminator offers unequaled power and versatility
BURNABY, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 1997-- Advanced Gravis Computer Technology Ltd., leading game controller manufacturer, today announced Xterminator, a new game pad offering unprecedented power and versatility. This fully-stocked game pad, featuring the control of a game pad and the finesse of a joystick, will be available Fall 1997 for a suggested retail price of $69.95.
This is Gravis' first PC game pad featuring proportional control, allowing greater command of the most challenging new games. The game pad includes digital and proportional directional pads, an array of digital buttons and flippers, 2 proportional flippers, point-of-view switch, and proportional throttle. Xterminator is a natural not only for traditional game pad games, but also for driving and flying games that are better suited to proportional control. The hottest new game releases will support proportional buttons for controlling the speed or intensity of actions (for instance, ``how hard'' a hockey player shoots the puck). Xterminator's array of features meets the demands of game pad and joystick fans alike.
Xterminator exploits Gravis' digital GrIP technology (Gravis' patent-pending multiplayer, multibutton game interface) and introduces a new level of programmability. With a new game-style software interface and enhanced features such as on-the-fly control set hot switching, Xterminator gives gamers the tools to take on nearly any style of game.
Keyboard emulation gives gamers the benefit of Xterminator's extensive buttons and controls -- even with games that typically support only a few joystick buttons. And multi-key capabilities and hot set-switching make complicated fighting game moves as simple as pressing a button.
``With the introduction of Xterminator, Gravis is setting a new standard for game controllers,'' says Mike Cooper, Gravis Business Team Leader. ``Xterminator is Gravis' answer to high-performance gamers' demands.''
