During the 60s WLS was a rock & roll station. Dick Biondi had the same following in the Midwest as Wolfman Jack had on the left coast. Sometime in the 70s it went to the talk format. Amazed me when I was looking for some music. They used to have Uncle Larry and Little Tommy on in the mornings and had a section called Animal Stories that was a hoot. They also had the tales from the homosexual truck driver who drove a pink semi for Mary Gay Cosmetics. That one got so funny that it was dangerous to drive while listening to it. When AIDS came along they dropped the routine.
