I wonder if a major Democratic player has written an Op-Ed article on The NYTimes results on the
Florida election. The Gitlin article suggests that a Democrat has not done so.

If a Democrat doesn't have the courage to voice an opinion on the problems with the Florida election,
perhaps we will NOT have a Democratic candidate who will be able to challenge Bush in the next Presidential election.

What happened to the leaders of the Democratic party? If they would spend more time at work
and less time screwing around with staff members and interns, maybe they could help pass some
decent legislation.

However, illicit affairs are not the exclusive property of the Democrats
. The Republicans also have a reputation for screwing around. Remember Newt? He married a staff member one not too long ago. Then there was Hyde. There are many others as well. I'd bet on it.

And there are even rumors about "W's past extra-martial affairs, although it is unlikely that they got in the way of his work as Governor of Texas since the pundits say he didn't spend much time working or thinking. And, from what I've been reading, the Governor of Texas isn't as powerful as the Lt. Governor of Texas!!!!
