Why on earth do people accept living in that climate? We have delightful winters? This is the WORST time of year. Yesterday Dan and I went on a magical mystery tour to Archer City, Texas, home of Larry McMurtry's bookstore, All Booked Up. It was 105 and little or no AC in the stores. And we discussed buying a little place in Maine on the way home. Or Alaska. Or the North Pole might be nice in August.... So did you get to the Riverwalk? The Alamo? The Mercado? Yeah- I'm embarrassed about the need for sweaters.
