My family spent 3 summers on a boat on the Great Lakes that was owned by a Jewish couple. I remember something I did and the owner of the boat asked me why I did it. I said I asked my mother and she said and wham, he knocked me off the boat. I'm treading water in Lake Erie and he yells down "You never refer to your mother as she". Then he tossed me a brush and told me to scrub the hull. I really liked that guy. He also taught me so much about running a boat I got a perfect score on the Power Squadron boating test.
