That's the hard part - a lot of those places are there solely for the conventions downtown - and people that are here for a meeting generally want places they can either walk to or take a quick cab ride to. For the most part, we go downtown for a basketball game - or the Christmas lights (and even for the Christmas lights, it's mainly to take someone from out of town)... that's about it. We really DO have the greatest mexican food in the U.S. - both true mexican AND tex-mex. San Antonio has the stats for a large city - but it is sprawling and lives more like a small town. Got to admit - I would NOT choose to visit here in July or August... that is when I am looking to get OUT of Texas!
