I kept a raccoon once; found it screaming next to what was left of its mother after a car had squashed it. And yes, its name was Rocky. I would agree that raccoons are great fun for a while, but it is idiotic to keep them in a cage when they get too difficult to keep. When they get too difficult to keep you let them go, so they can go back to the semi-wild - they adapt very quickly - and go around turning over people's garbage cans.

Once as a teenager, while the family rented a cabin in the Adirondacks for the summer, I was assigned the task of cleaning up the garbage after the raccoons had finished with it every night. I had already been doing this for a long time at home, and didn't much care for it. One night I heard the cans go over and ran outside, eager to take revenge. Unfortunately the cans had been dumped by a bear, which led to a rather fast retreat on my part.
