Debum way OT (car racing)
Just by pure chance, last year, while on the way to Birmingham, Alabama, I happened to drive by the Talladega racetrack on I-20 while the Talladega 500 was actually being run.
The experience put me though a series of surprises, beginning with the highway (deserted), the number of cars parked around the track (mind-boggling), but most of all by the sound of the race. Couldn’t see a thing of course but the sound was amazing -- obviously powerful engines obviously max’d out ---all sorts of Doppler vibes ---something was going fast.
So, yep, I got a little taste of what it was all about.
I’m a bicycle man myself, but guess someday I’ll have to get me a ticket to one of them races….
