orion, you are confused. intel gave micron $500 mil cash to start rdram production. micron gave intel some stock in return. the stock took off - against all reason, i might add, and intel could have made big money if they sold. i don't know if they did. THAT is what happened. btw, i'm no supporter of micron or any other dram mfr. bottom line, their business sucks - spend $1 billion to make a couple $100 million. here we go again, their biz sucks big so why pay more for poor dfm and royalty costs? although i dislike micron, they are very efficient and they are not dumb.
