Peter: nForce seriously delayed?

*Gasp* You're telling me that NVIDIA didn't manage to get their very first attempt at a chipset perfect first time around? ;-)

Heh... considering the problems many (well, more like ALL) of the existing players are having, that's not exactly surprising.

The only thing on the upcoming chipsets redesign we can now state for sure touches upon nForce 220 (Crush11). It will have no Dolby Digital 5.1 sound: there will be AC’97 sound instead. However, this is not the end yet. We assume that NVIDIA may wish to remove the network controller as well.

Both of these would be very, very serious blows to the nForce platform, IMHO. Of course, if the 420 (or whatever it's called) still has Dolby and NIC integrated, that mitigates the damage to a very large degree. If both chipsets are hit&#133

Btw, what does this all say about X-Box? Will it be delayed as well?

I hope not. I was hoping to buy one and convert it to a fully functional PC ;-).
