PT, Re: It would be interesting to see how these values compare with AMD's current mobile offerings.

It's about 50% higher (31W for 1.0 GHz Athlon 4 IIRC) if you compare it clock-to-clock without any battery saving measures like PowerNow! enabled. Unfortunately I couldn't find the exact numbers in any techdocs from AMD, they are only mentioned in a small presentation for the Athlon 4 launch.

It would also be interesting to know the power requirement of the other significant notebook components.

You might want to check out this data:

tecchannel.de

Component Power consumption in Watts

Mobile PIII 600 LV 0,8
Chipsatz 440MX 0,65
SDRAM 64 MByte 0,1
Grafikchip 0,5
I/O-Subsystem 0,1
Audio 0,4
Festplatte 0,65
DVD-ROM-Laufwerk 2,51
CardBus-Controller 0,2
Display 2,8
Netzteil 0,72
Diverses 1

Gesamt 10,43

It's from Intel and represents a typical Intel PIII LV notebook playing a DVD.
