I've noticed all the same things you have mentioned and though the message wasn't addressed to me I have some observations of my own. The great majority of posters here have a built in bullish bias. A few have a bearish bias. When I say this I mean a bias that is completely separate from what the market is doing. So many posters post messages just to bolster their built in bias and try to convince others get on their side. I don't really think that is very constructive. Mostly it just gets boring. What can you say to someone who says essentially "I think the market is going up because... well because it ought to."

The only posts that interest me are from people who don't seem to have a bias. Those people are few and far between. Even if their view is different from mine I have to respect it. Eichler is a good example of someone who seemed unbiased and though sometimes differing in opinion from mine was and is someone I took seriously. Haven't seen him lately. Arguing with someone who has a built in bias about market direction is just tedious.

I think the reason things have quieted down is that now that it is a bear market it has become very obvious just how many people have a built in bias. Sad to say it doesn't seem to be any different than in the general populace. Thats discouraging and it makes a lot of us wonder if SI is really the tool we thought it was.
