I would tend to agree with you ... because of his absentia. Gore still has time to resurrect himself, though, but he needs to speak out on the issues. After Nixon lost to JFK in '60 and then lost the California governor's race two years later, he spent the next four or five years traveling the country in support of local Republican congressional candidates, building a base of support. No reason Gore couldn't do similar. Perhaps, in fact, Gore is looking ahead to '08 and not '04.
