You are entirely correct, no stock is an island. I do think people can get obsessed with the direction of the market and key on last years favs though. There is so much happening, so much to chose from that it's not necessary at times to worry about the direction of the market, especially when we had a firm bottom like we saw in April. You will just get kicked out of some very nice gains by the sea saw movements and turned in a trader, when perhaps you should be sitting. Anyhooo, most of the post I was a joken with you all. Beeeeing this is the MDD thread and all, of course there is a lot of talk about market direction, but how close do you want to be with it? I posted some very nice looking stocks that one would of been easily kicked out of if they would of worried about the averages direction to a t.
