Here's the way you get to Nazi=left. Nazism and Communism were forms of totalitarianism. Totalitarianism equals strong government, maximum government. In comparison the conservative or right wants small government and the liberal or left wants strong government to combat capitalism.

Personally I leave Nazis and Communists off the political spectrum but on the economic spectrum where more sense can be made of an issue like private ownership of some business or state controlled business and economy. A dictator is a Dictator, fancy military uniform or dark blue suit.

OK, let's hear your spiel for Nazis = right.

edit: never mind, I nearly stepped in it. Quite a pile. People may have different opinions but find no reason to codify them.
