It has been debated here on this tread lately. There is a need for a certain size of the market-share that AMD have to reach in order to calibrate R&D and good usage of productions facilities. If they can't reach it, Intel will again smash them eventually.

Gottfried, I guess we disagree but I don't think its smart to slug it out over market share when demand has fallen and margins are slipping. The writer of that article criticizes Intel for giving up on its old business model and rightly so. Under current mgmt, I am not surprised.

Well, Sanders doesn't know when to pull his punches. That may not be as bad as incompetent mgmt. but it can hurt the company nonetheless. Frankly, I don't think either company is protecting shareholder value by fighting a price war in these uncertain times. Of course, other shareholders like yourself may not agree.
