victor, how many years of retirement would $100k finance for you? my bet is not much, unless you assume everyone owns a business or has a HUGE stock portfolio. wrt savings, as long as everyone knows the definition, its ok. one can take the savings rate and add factors for other things (which i agree can be substantial).
