Well said... I've been trying to make this point, but didn't do so so cogently. Plus, as a 'European socialist' - as you'd expect to find on various US stock investment bb's <g> - I'm not sure my views carry much weight...

I agree absolutely, with effect and reasons. What plays well doestically does not go down well abroad. Most countries expect the more 'rousing' rhetoric to be restricted to the home audience... when it isn't, then as you say - the 'in your face' attitude breeds resentment and will at best not aid future, possibly more vital, agreements...
