With all due respect, I do not believe that you can get a fair and balanced view from this station. For example, did the LA Department of Power and Light also agree to what is "just and reasonable", did the general manager of that department who became the governor's chief strategist and power buyer agree to the principle of "just and reasonable"?, etc, etc.
When one gets to a certain level of power, one becomes a capitalist pig just like me and the urge to "make a killing" is as strong as ever. Remember, "greed is good" and it infects even the highest levels of godly organized religion and ungodly secular dictatorships. Why should a public owned power utility pass up a good deal?
I hope Davis prevails in his lawsuit because that is where it should be settled - in the courts. Furthermore, his planned $13B bond sale to replenish the state coffers for major goofs made by the sacto politicians is as offensive as the bonuses paid to the PG&E execs. This bond sale will do more to kill the California economy than anything I can think of.
