You need look no further than Anand's web site servers. AMD is already there and is growing in ratio of AMD nodes vs total nodes.

Anand, as much as he is a good student, analyst and reporter about new platforms (even though he came across a little strange reviewing the desktop Tualatin yesterday instead of the mobile) is a small fry user. He's more like the university types that don't care if they reboot once in a while than he is like a shop that requires mission critical computing. These would be like banks and stock exchanges. I believe that Intel is going the way of the latter. They were the first to introduce ECC, including for cache, in low cost platforms. In the future, they'll be in servers with everything hot swappable, even the CPU boards.
