Brees, I assume it was intended as a mild insult, as well. I don't see what that has to do with the point.

My post was about the statements that Steven made that I agreed with. I couldn't very well agree with that one because I never read the book. There's nothing complicated about this. I agree with Steven on all the other points and I wouldn't find my kids a date , so I don't see any reason for you to conclude that he would, either.

If you want to insult him back, that's another matter. You should do it in a way that doesn't distort the substance of the discussion.

Speaking of the discussion. I'll review the bidding. We started out with the question of whether an abstinence only program would work for sex ed. We seem to have some general agreement that kids shouldn't have sex and that sex outside of a caring relationship is iffy. We are nowhere near settling on what form of abstinence message might be suitable for public policy--we don't even have a proposal on the table--let alone whether it should be supplemented by plan B. The closest thing we have to a proposal is JLA's description of a family model but not how that translates into public policy. In other words, we're nowhere.
