July 30, 2001 3:39 AM

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- Oxygen, the retail brand of CLP TeleCom jointly operated with Britain-based Yes Television said Monday it has launched a self-installing broadband Internet access service.

The service covers 95% of Hong Kong's households through Pacific Century CyberWorks' ADSL network which Oxygen has rented.

The company will charge a monthly service fee of HK$198 for the first three months, for 200 hours from Monday to Saturday and for unlimited access on Sunday. It will waive the HK$250 connection fee for three months.

After the promotional period the monthly service fee will be HK$288.

CLP Telecom was set up in 1999 as part of CLP Holdings Ltd. (H.CLP)'s efforts to diversify out of its traditional electricity supply operations.
