I wish you the best of luck. I personally wouldn't touch most stocks right now. In the entire Dow 30, I think MRK is probably the only reasonably attractive stock now -- in addition to MO, though the latter is handicapped by the fact that it has had a stupendous 100%+ run in the last year. (The higher you pay, the lower your return etc. etc. etc. ... ).

As for tech stocks, I wouldn't touch them even with a ten-foot pole! These things have a lot more room to fall. IMO, some of these stocks are not attractive at any price. However, I don't know for sure if JDSU is or is not one of them. I make my life simple by just keeping away from the entire lot of stocks that rose to popularity during the tech-stock bubble and JDSU was certainly one of them (we are all agreed that there indeed was a bubble, aren't we yet?! <g>).
