Isopatch, I'm all for reductions but I think if we are going to have any type of new environmental regulations they should be done within our own trading blocks.

Art is right about diplomacy, but Kyoto isn't a sane example of it. The biggest selling feature of the protocol the availability of carbon credits. Apparently Russia's emissions have already reduced by half due to "economic collapse" of their economy, -- or so they say. Because of the complexity of the agreement no one is sure if Russia is telling the truth. So in effect, for Albertans to export oil to the U.S. we will have to pay Russian thugs a lil' vig for the right.
