Daniel, I don't know that any respect is due, as I'm just another guy with an opinion, but Forum's an excellent program that maintains balance even within a generally progressive viewpoint. Quite a difference from right wing shout radio. Krasny sure ain't doing it for the money (when I heard that Limbaugh's getting a $250 million, 8 year contract, my first thought was he should have to pay us that for putting up with his gasbaginess - fortunately, we're not forced to listen to that rot).

I don't like any of the gouging or conflicts of interest, whether they're associated with the power co's or the state. Those that are screwing the consumers who had little say in this whole process should be stopped in any regard, and I think you'll find Davis and co. placing more effort into that task than the privateers. He should have put more emphasis on checking for conflicts of interest, even though doing his work in a near crisis situation.

I think the public agencies and advisors that participated in any of this should be held to task too. "Just and reasonable" may not be perfectly defined, but prices 3x - 10x higher than anywhere else is like they say about pornography - you know it when you see it.

Our world views are apparently quite different. If your's is as representative of the energy companies' as I think it is, you have re-cemented my opposition to this deregulation. As I have aged (only somewhat of course) and gotten closer to some of those in power, my regard for some of these people and the way they work the system just shrinks further. It's a very rigged game, and renews my convictions in the other direction.

I can think of one thing that will kill CA much faster than the bond sale -- that's the deregulation scheme that was operating and gamed shamelessly this past year. R.I.P.
