Then doesn't that make your attempted rebuttal of a so-called lie nonsensical?

Common sense tells you that the starting value and the ending value matter in that type of comparison. It DOES make a difference whether you start in October 1990 or July 1991, whether you like it or not. It DOES make a difference whether you end in October 2000 or July 2001, whether you like it or not.
