To see what sort of return your approach would give I used QQQ at the closing price of 41.76 and the '03 40 Calls bid 9.90. A buy/write today gives a return, if QQQ is anywhere above 40 at expiration, of 25+% in 17 months or about 18% annualized. Not bad for a low maintenance position. Not bad at all.
