To All, two full days of doing my real job under my belt now and I love it. And this is the massive paperwork phase, not even the investing rest of my life. So far, I am not on the computer system, so I'm sending out forms based upon the best guess method instead of a prompt from the computer. Hopefully I will get on today. Also, my stock monitor has a penchant for erasing itself every evening, which I find disconcerting. However, in this case, I think it is because I am a densa on the system. 17 weeks of training and nobody even gave us a look at how the quote system works here. "You can figure it out." I can't figure out anything. <g>

I have yet to discern why my option chain is slower than a horse I bet on. It is also kind of odd in that it just lists symbols without telling me what year for Leaps. I think the CBOE chain is much better and will be using it until I figure out some way to soup up the ADP jalopy. I had just had the ADP installed when one of our fellow SIers called me. He was able to get option quotes much faster than I was, and that is not the way you want it to work if you are billing yourself as "da options guy." <VBG>

I am killing trees at an gruesome rate. Between the regulators and legal CYA, the paperwork is awesome. The firm cuts it back as much as they can, but most of this stuff you just have to have to stay out of prison. Whatever happened to the concept that the computer will do away with paper? Georgia Pacific and Union Camp are laughing all the way to the bank.

Best,

The Knight of The Grateful Dead <g>
