Laura Unger, acting chairwoman of the SEC, has had some interesting things to say about analyst recommendations recently. I guess the complacenti are still taking the recommendations seriously without doing their own research, surprisingly. Some analysts, it was reported, apparently even profited by trading against their own recommendations.
