Yes, actually it does. One of the best arguments for animal cruelty laws is that committing unspeakable acts on animals inures the perp to the suffering of others and leads eventually to unspeakable acts on people. I am all for strengthening the laws against animal abuse. This, of course, does not have anything to do with abuse against persons.
