All I know is that today is the worst possible day to cover any short positions. There are day traders, panicking shorts, mo-mo money, The big "we've bottomed" ML upgrade, a reasonable KLAC earnings report, and a lack of news for the next month. Even if I wanted to cover I sure wouldn't do it today. On the other hand I sold all my remaining long tech positions today. Believe today or tomorrow will turn out to be a short term top. A lot of these stocks have run up very quickly. edit: Couldn't resist shorting more KLAC just now, a lot more. 20% move is a bit much for one week.
