Peter & thread,

A "Market Maven's" take on the situation surrounding the likely passage of the Patient's Bill of Rights:

>>Here is an interesting thought about politics. The Patient’s Bill of Rights that was supposed to level the playing field for patients against the health insurers is likely to pass. And when it does, it will be little more than a nice bit of make up on a problem that the markets and a few state court decisions and settlements have already achieved. What we like best is that the Washington posturing has scared the pants out of Wall Street and caused a great deal of betting against health care. Regular readers know how we like to see those short covering rallies stretch into bull runs. And that’s exactly what could be starting.

Just a few days ago we suggested in our Market’s Message column that investors keep an eye on the health care complex for clues on the likely outcome of the bill. And as the news was reported that the White House was getting close to a compromise, and that it was going to give the President, who is friendlier toward business than Congress, a good deal of what he wanted, the health care complex took off.<<

I've been drying out my powder again, as a I think we'll get more chop before this fundamental powers an uptrend in health care stocks. Assuming that's what happens, but it makes sense to me. Other thoughts?

Cheers, Tuck
