The way I read that article was to say that although use of SOI might help boost speed (which is one of the reasons AMD plans to switch), Sun and TI had evaluated it and concluded the additional cost didn't bring sufficient benefit. They say they have no plans to eventually shift, but it wouldn't surprise me if they eventually make such plans to eventually shift. <g> All JMHO. Charles Tutt (TM)
