No, it is not a Christian Nation.
By law, it is a secular nation, favoring no church or religion. Sociologically, it is predominantly a Protestant nation, although the single largest denomination is Roman Catholic. Since most of the mainstream Protestant denominations are "liberal", even a number of Christians are partially secularized, what may be called "post- Christian", insofar as they do not believe in the Creeds, although most do believe in God in some manner. Thus, it is a nominally Christian populace, but with a diluted attachment to the specifics of Christian doctrine........
