CGI to Distribute CNC's Human Resources Management
Application Throughout Quebec's Healthcare Network

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--AUGUST 1, 2001 - 13:41 EDT

The agreement represents potential revenues of more than Cdn$6
million for CNC

Management of Central Network Communications Inc. ("CNC")
announces that, through its subsidiary Soft Dimension Inc., it has
entered into a memorandum of understanding with CGI Group Inc.
("CGI") for the distribution of three modules of its human
resources management application throughout Quebec's healthcare
sector. CGI will integrate CNC's application into its ASP Health
solution, a total management solution based on SAP technology
already implemented with great success in several hospitals across
the province. Scheduled to be ratified by September 2001, this
agreement would provide CNC with more than Cdn$6 million in
revenues, including a definite Cdn$1 million over the next 12
months.

CNC's application features human resources management, staffing,
scheduling and payroll. The three modules covered by this
agreement are the recall list, work scheduling and electronic
timesheets. Developed mainly for the healthcare sector, this
application has been implemented in such establishments as the
LeGardeur Hospital, the Montreal Jewish Hospital and the Portneuf
Hospital. Powerful, versatile and cost-effective, the application
also handles human resources management at Cabano-Kingway, Drakkar
Human Resources, MAAX, Secur, City of Montreal (Occupational
Health and Safety) and several other well-known organizations.

The fourth largest independent information technology consulting
company in North America, CGI offers healthcare centres a unique
solution combining administrative, medico-administrative, clinical
and e-business applications. Luc Bouchard, Vice-President,
Business Development, Health and Social Services at CGI, said:
"CNC's solution ideally meets the human resources management needs
of healthcare centres across Quebec. It will definitely enable us
to further strengthen the uniqueness of our ASP Health solution."

"We will gradually transfer our knowledge of the application to
CGI which will take over without difficulty," said Carol Brunet,
CNC's Executive Vice-President. "With its sales and
implementation force, CGI will be able to establish our solution
as a true standard in Quebec's healthcare sector."

There are about 1,000 hospitals and over 2,000 extended-care
centres across Canada. Quebec alone has approximately 200
hospitals, some 400 local community health services centres
(CLSCs) and more than 400 residential and extended-care centres
(CHSLDs). "Considering the size of the potential market, we
believe that this agreement will provide CNC with close to Cdn$6
million in royalties," added Mr. Brunet.

"CGI is an ideal partner: CNC designs and markets applications,
whereas CGI integrates the best applications for its clients'
benefit. We are confident that this agreement marks the start to
a rewarding, long-term business relationship," concluded Mr.
Brunet.
