Still, the idea that there is a supreme being more powerful than humans, and from whom our basic rights are given, is deeply enmeshed into the theoretical underpinnings of our government. You may consider Him God Almighty, or god the legal fiction, but remove Him or it from our country, and you replace our solid foundation with shifting sand. Whatever man gives, men can take back.
