I don't know what religion the founding fathers were. But they created a representative government. They all knew well the religious sensibilities of those who they represented. Any who don't or can't see the connections from Christian tenants from all in that time frame just have limited vision and poor sight.

Our Load was the first to actually distinguish between civil government and religion and what our duty to God was vs the state. The Jewish religion always merged the divine appointment of Kings as part of their religion. Current Israel does not have this biblical underpinning in it's government. All civilization thru the time of Our Load merged the legitimate power of the rulers with a God(s).

Western civilization in Europe evolved the rights of Kings to be linked to an authority of God. A Christian God.

Our founding fathers were the first to go back to the idea that individuals had rights and they and only they could turn over their rights to the Government. The Government had no divine right. The separation of Church and state is a unique creation that goes directly back to Our Loads teaching.

At the time of the revolution the United States of America was part of the Christian British Empire. Americans were loyal subjects of the King of England the head of a Christian Church.

America represents the evolution of the best of Christian ideas of honor, love, tolerance, mercy, charity. Those to blind to see this jump at the chance to tear at that which made America great.
