Hi, E.C. You're next in my ketch-up round of responses I owe from Monday's replies by various threadmates.
Your comments regarding ABX, Cominco, Noranda, Teck, etc...NONE of them are straight shooters. I do believe it is not possible to get big and do it honestly. It's the dirtiest game outside of organized crime that I know of. There are so many ways to get screwed by a big mining outfit, whether in a climate of low or high POG, that I truly believe one should a complimentary Snap-On set of torque driver bits to all big outfits who come a knocking. And then lean over from the waist, because, baby, it's gonna be a big one!!!
I laughed outloud at your six banks to hit the side pocket...oh, how true, how true!
You wrote such a fitting epitaph that I think it needs to be reposted here: Are politics, mine development and gold prices strange bedfellows?
The answer is sadly, no. And Barrick is just the newest MUNK to get anointed in the gold game. Bedknobs, Broomsticks, and Brickbats. Throw them all at him, and he'll land on his feet with another scalp added to his reserves category. And for what? The Euro integration now and the Asian Monetary Unit hard on its heels after the NWO types practice on the European suckers?
