Palm may not be sitting still. The easy thing would be increasing the resolution on the m50x. It can also do the virtual handwriting display thing HandEra is doing. That's only a display change and software upgrade. Palm has the changes that HandEra has done anyway. With these updates, the m50x can go for $299 and $350 respectively. Actually, the HandEra display is only 320x240, which should be cheaper than a 320x320 display.

A bigger and harder change would be putting the ARM chip in, but that requires the addition of multimedia parts such as the speaker, mike, and headset. Preferrably, the CF slot would be better than SD, but we know Palm. It was a bad decision that's too late to be reversed.
