Where I live, a place where the Catholic church has banned all sex education, there are hundreds of thousands of young people who barely know what STDs are or how they are transmitted.

Unless you live at the Vatican I think you are mistaken. But if the country you live in allows Rome to dictate policy to them they are either insane or weak.

If you let someone who has taken a vow of celibacy teach your children about sex you will get what you deserve in the end. In my French language education it boiled down to practical experience. We learn and are judged by our peers. The only thing we can teach about sex in school is safe sex or shock factor fear about STD's.
