I do monitor the Yahoo board on AMES. Yahoo boards are mostly employees and speculators of limited resources. Hyping the stock and trashing the stock could happen on the same day.

Ames had made the stockholders aware of their cash position by additional financing, when they should have close relations with Generous Electric. This shows their desperation. But, the real situation is not yet desperate. As you know, the stores which will go for chapter 11, will purchase excessive inventory just before they file bankruptcy. Suppliers today, watch for that kind of activity, as a warning sign.

Hopefully, it is just AMES way of preparing for back to school and X'mas business inventory needs. I am still holding my shares. My advice to AMES is, don't try to earn your profits, price the merchandise right and profit by it. Learn from AOL. Competition from Bradlees and Caldor is gone. Target and Walmart have their own middle class customers, and they don't have to price lower than AMES. Pricing lower than Target and Walmart will not take customers away from them. It is location , location and location.
