Sovereign Resources Announces That It has Retained Michael J. Skopos to Manage Exploration & Development of CISI's Mineral Properties
Business Editors MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2001--CIS.com Inc. (OTC:CISI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term consulting agreement with Michael J. Skopos, CPG. Effectively immediately, Mr. Skopos will manage all exploration, development and permitting activities at properties owned by CISI and Sovereign Resources, Inc. During the course of his career, Mr. Skopos has founded a number of junior exploration and development companies, serving as both a senior officer and director of these firms. He is also credited with discovering three major mineral deposits in North America.
Mr. Skopos brings to CISI / Sovereign over 40 years of expertise in structural geology / deposit modeling, ore reserves, exploration and feasibility studies, with a particular expertise in porphyry copper and epithermal gold-silver ore deposits. He has also worked as a mine manager and chief geologist at several underground and open pit gold and copper mining operations in the United States and Canada ranging in size from 75 to 50,000 ST / day. Among Mr. Skopos' many achievements during his career was developing the geologic model instrumental in discovering and blocking out over 400 million tons of ore reserves at Lornex / Highland Valley Copper in the early 1970s. Recently, he applied this same geologic model to the Getty North copper deposit in British Columbia, and doubled the known ore reserves. As a founder of Decade Development Ltd. in the early 1970s, he directed the acquisition, exploration, development and successful operation of the Jolu gold mine in Saskatchewan.
Mr. Skopos holds a CPG (Certified Professional Geologist) designation from the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He is also a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada. CIS.com and Sovereign Resources believe that both its copper / gold exploration programs and evaluation of new acquisition opportunities will greatly benefit from Mr. Skopos' advice and involvement.
The hiring of Michael Skopos represents a significant step in the Company's transition to a new technical / management team. Over the coming weeks, additional announcements will be made regarding the hiring of an experienced team of consultants and executive officers to direct CISI's exploration of the Sovereign properties, as well as generate new acquisition opportunities for the Company.
