Crash next week ? Sorry, this one is in German. Albert Edwards, chief strategist at Dresdner Kleinworth is expecting a crash for next week (~20% down) triggered by productivity numbers due Tuesday. The new calculation method will show that the US "productivity miracle" isn't really happening. The non-inflationary growth potential is only 2.5% as opposed to the 3.5% expected. Take it for what is worth, but it sure is a gutsy call. Wonder if i should close my shorts. With the Naz breaking 2080 i start feeling itchy. That is a good indicator for an imminent crash.... Edwards sagte der Tageszeitung «Die Welt» (Freitagausgabe) nach Angaben der Zeitung, am 7. August werde es einen Einbruch von über 20 Prozent geben. Als Auslöser für den Einbruch sieht der Experte laut «Welt» die neuen US-Konjunkturdaten. So würden am nächsten Dienstag die Produktivitätszahlen für das zweite Quartal veröffentlicht. Eine neue Berechnungsmethode werde zu dem Resultat führen, dass es doch nicht so weit her sei mit dem amerikanischen Produktivitätswunder. Das Potenzialwachstum, in dem die Wirtschaft zulegen kann, ohne Inflation zu produzieren, werde nicht wie bisher angenommen bei 3,5 Prozent, sondern bei nur 2,5 Prozent liegen, zitiert «Die Welt» Edwards.
