Alex,
I agree with everything you posted. I see Iona as a strong competitor. I think that the Corba market should be big enough for more than one company. I am looking at buying some of there stock. As far as VSGN, they have been continually releasing press releases over the last few months. The deals that they have signed with the big players should lead to nice returns in the future.

I think you know more about the technology than I do. I have read some white papers on Corba/ IIOP but I am basically relying on the advice of my technical friends. They think that VSGN is really well positioned for the future.

I think VSGN is a good long term play, but there is probably no hurry. I am waiting to buy more until some positive earnings or analyst comments.

PS I have recently started to look at CNTR. I am a Stanford graduate student, so I have often seen their buildings. At this price, I don't see much of a down side.
