Directors of Archer Daniels Midland Company Vote Cash and Stock Dividends

DECAUTUR, Ill., Aug 2, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The Directors of Archer Daniels Midland Company today declared a dividend of five cents a share on the Company's common stock payable September 4, 2001 to shareholders of record August 13, 2001.
This is ADM's 299th cash dividend and 279th consecutive quarterly payment, a record of 70 years of uninterrupted dividends. As of June 30, 2001 there are 630,836,107 shares of ADM common stock outstanding.
The Directors also declared a five percent stock dividend payable September 24, 2001 to Shareholders of record September 4, 2001.
