But the vote counting was blatantly fraudulent

Was it really? The Republicans were all saying so at the top of their lungs, I know. But the vote counting was public, and I kept listening carefully for any neutral party, such as a reporter, to confirm that there was fraud going on, and I didn't hear it.

The fact that Republicans were also screaming that manual recounts were a brand-new fraudulent invention on Al Gore's part, never before used in any election -- which was plainly ridiculous -- hurt their credibility, at least in my book. We both know that the Republicans would have screamed fraud if the Archangel Gabriel had descended from Heaven to conduct the recount. "Fustest with the mostest", right?
