No, actually I am bald from wrestling bears in the Canadian Northwoods. My favourite bear throw was an outer swirling satagoshi, which was to place my foot in between the bear's hind feet, grab the bear by the right lapel, turn, bend, and throw him over my head. After a while this created quite an abrasion from the bear fur on my scalp and has left me with that distinctive bear spot.
We have pretty well had to use these techniques because the restrictive gun laws of Canada prevent us from carrying anti bear guns. Despite the fact that millions of WWII weapons exist in Canada and people killed from them accidentally or on purpose is vanishingly small. We have a miniscule murder rate, and anyway it is almost all from handguns in cities amongst the newer citizens. The fr. Liberals are simply police state, anti hunting, dictators. It is almost as if they fear common people having weapons that could resist some kind of gradual military takoever. Part of this admittedly could be inspired from the Indian stand-offs at Oka and the like, where the army found the Indians had better equipment than they did. With their budget who doesn't? It was always known that the cheap Soviet AK-47 was a better field weapon than the FN or other stodgy NATO arms. It was a redesign of the WWII German Sturmgewehr44 which was inspired by the M1. But an old bolt action, even with a clip, is a far cry from a automatic assault rifle.
I understand this disarming is being done in the States too. We now have registration laws in Canada for anything that shoots. If you have weapon and it is not registered you may go to jail as the laws have been made very punitive. They will probably only use these laws to get people they don't like, and will also use the publicity of related weapons finds coming from blanket warrants or discovery from other intrusions to defame people. Where they want to paper over harassement they will brainwash citizens that anyone with an "illegal weapon" must be guilty of additional charged miscellaneous crimes. i.e owns a motorcycle, so the head line reads (Crazed Gang Member Arrested with Drug Stash and Illegal Weapons. i.e. guy who races dirt bikes had two marijuana plants 1 inch high and was arrested for noise at party, police find WWII M1 carbine used by father at Omaha Beach in dresser drawer, no ammo.)
In Canada now you could get one year for that. There are more people in jail per Capita in the US than anywhere else in the world except Red China. Is this necessary? Is it a more peaceful safer society?
I urge citizens who cherish freedom and do not wish a dictatorial government to disregard enmasse the edicts, tax laws, and other requirements of all such goverments until a fair interpretation of the constitution is adhered to and gov'ts do not use such catch all possession laws to harass dissenting citizens who would not otherwise be out of sorts with law.
The resistance to unfair legislation was started by Proposition 13 in California and it won. Don't vote for the bastards again.
Governments obviously feel the need to dictate to their citizens by force of arms with impunity. Why else be training US soldiers for mainly house to house urban battles as they are now? This is going on in Britain as well.
It is the citizen that is the source of power in a free government. He should trust himself and give himself the rights that he extends to the government as well. They are in right synonymous. In wrong, of course, they both abrogate right.
