Broncos sign Davis, trade Crockett to Falcons Aug. 2, 2001 SportsLine.com wire reports GREELEY, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos have signed former San Francisco and Carolina cornerback Eric Davis. They also traded linebacker Henri Crockett to the Atlanta Falcons for a seventh-round draft choice. Crockett had signed as a free agent from the Falcons in the offseason. Davis, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, could strengthen Denver's secondary and challenge left cornerback Deltha O'Neal for a starting job. Davis, 33, started all 16 games for Carolina last season despite a hand injury, becoming the only player in the league with at least five interceptions in five straight seasons.
